Junk Art Garden Teambuilding

Try Casa San Pablo’s Junk Art Garden team building area and activities. Intended for groups looking for fun and creative ways to form bonds and face challenges together, the garden teems with creative ideas on how to upcycle junk and found objects. Groups can enjoy low-risk yet creativity-packed games.

They will also come away with a refreshed awareness of how to reduce, re-use, and recycle. Pocket areas in the garden include a recycled bottles section, a re-used tires section, a reduce plastic area, and a found-objects scavenger hunt area.

Creative Clay Teambuilding

Three of the biggest challenges to creativity are not being able to take risks, to silence our inner critic, and to enter into a spirit of play. At the Casa San Pablo Creative Clay Workshops, you can turn a fun and relaxing session with clay into an opportunity overcome these blocks, unleash the creative forces in your team, and hone skills and talents you knew never your team has hiding and waiting to be given a chance to come out in the open in them.

In these creative clay classes, your team will learn how to make clay storyteller dolls and listening dolls. They are clay figures originally from Native American pueblo artisans and now created with Filipino flavor and touch only at Casa San Pablo. Creativity workshops like these aim to harness your team’s artistic, inventive and resourceful sides in them.

Storyteller dolls are a representation of people who tell and share stories to children gathered around him or her. Even in other races, storytelling has proven to be a great learning tool in passing on and receiving wisdom amongst children and adults alike.

The listener dolls, on the other hand, will be used as a powerful symbol of creativity within all of us in each creative clay team-building workshop.

Native Cooking Teambuilding

At the Casa San Pablo Native Cooking Class, you will learn how to prepare and cook favorite Laguna dishes such as Adobong Manok sa Gata (Chicken Adobo Cooked in Coconut Milk), Kulawo (Eggplant Salad in Roasted Coconut Milk) or Ginataang Hipon (Freshwater Shrimps in Thick Coconut Sauce).

Classes are completely hands-on, encouraging you to practice rural Filipino cooking techniques. Our instructors are native kusineras who carry the tradition of coconut plantation cooking passed on to them from generations of old San Pablo families. These kusineras are our living treasures. They will introduce you to Laguna cuisine and explain the three delicious dishes you will be cooking. They will also be taking you through the classic way of preparing coconut milk, which is the base of most traditional San Pablo dishes. On some tours, they will also show you where the fresh ingredients like hipon, coconut, and vegetables to be used in the dishes are found.

Our kusineras will present a cooking demonstration and provide tasting samples. At your personal cooking station, styled after the native batalan, the kusineras will guide you through the recipe step-by-step as you cook the dish.

At the end of the class, a delicious meal, which will include the dishes you have prepared, will be set up for lunch at our cozy dining room overlooking our gardens.

Staying at Casa San Pablo will be an equally special treat. It is a quaint country inn nestled within a family compound. Boots Alcantara, an avid art collector and hobbyist, and his wife, An Mercado Alcantara, a writer and magazine editor, are the innkeepers. They create a cozy home atmosphere for guests and are committed to preserving the best of San Pablo life.
