It is almost the weekend (insert happy dance here)! But before that, let’s take a trip to a pretty darling wedding captured by the ever amazing Nicolai Melicor! Jake and Bea’s Casa San Pablo wedding is the sweetest of them all. Not only do the colors scream dainty to us, but all the decor from the flowers to the wedding signs are just adorable to the brim. And did we mention that the invite, favors, and signs were all made by the couple? Aaahhh, we can’t ask for more! Enjoy!

Isko Andrade

Isko earned his degree in Visual Communication at Bulacan State University. He explores the hyper-realistic technique by depicting fabric, objects under plastic, flowers, and other everyday objects in superb detail. His numerous awards include the Grand Prize at the 47th Shell Art Competition (oil on canvas) in 2014 and the Grand Prize at the Philippine National Oil Company Competition (oil on canvas) in 2015. His works have been exhibited at Altro Mondo Gallery, Provenance Gallery, Cevio Gallery, Ysobel Gallery, and at Eskinita Gallery.

Marvin Quizon

Marvin earned his degree in Fine Arts at Bulacan State University. He portrays his subjects hyper-realistically with a significant amount of mystery. His technique revolves primarily on sfumato effects and contextual figures in seemingly vulnerable positions. His portfolio comprises of various painting contest participations during his college days and a flourishing list of group shows. Quizon is currently dedicating all his time to painting.

Carlo de Laza

Carlo graduated from the University of the Philippines with a degree in Fine Arts Major in Sculpture. As a student, he consistently made it as finalist in the sculpture category of the Shell National Student Art Competition, winning three years in a row from 2012 to 2014.

Lawrence Cervantes

LAWRENCE CERVANTES is a part-time faculty member at Bulacan State University and at Eulogio Amang Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology (EARIST), and a part-time runway model. His sepia-like renderings mostly feature people situated in subtly surreal environments. Cervantes has also had his share of group exhibitions and constantly trains to gain his solo show in the years to come.

Denmark dela Cruz

Denmark is from Bugallon, Pangasinan. Since 2010, he has joined more than two dozen group shows and is eager to build up a body of work, under the mentorship of Alfredo Esquillo and Renato Habulan, that would allow him to do a solo exhibit. Art & culture journalist Carlomar Arcangel Daoana explains Denmark’s approach to art as dealing with “social issues through visible dichotomies (the proletariat versus the oligarch) as well as his use of the crown, which symbolizes the deployment—and possibility—of power.”

Mark Maac

Mark is a graduating student from the Bulacan State University, a school now well-known for producing some of the most promising contemporary art students today. From grade school to college, he won numerous intra- and inter-school art competitions, culminating in national competitions in his tertiary year. Some of his most prestigious awards are Grand Prize Winner for the Philippine National Oil Company in 2013, and the Vision Petron National Student Art Competition 2014 (oil category). He was also a finalist in the GSIS National Art Competition 2013 and the Metrobank Art Excellence Award 2013. His painting shave been on exhibit at the Sentro ng Sining at Kultura ng Bulacan and at the Ysobel Art Gallery.

Michelle Ballesteros

Michelle is a Fine Arts graduate from the University of the Philippines. She has focused on oil painting and is best known for her series Burda, which powerfully depict women and embroidery to provoke discourse on one’s attempts to stitch reality and meaning together. Her works have been exhibited at the Nineveh Art Gallery in Sta. Cruz, Laguna, and at Eskinita Art Gallery in Makati.

Harry Mark Gonzales

Harry Mark brought much honor to Iloilo, his hometown, when he was awarded Grand Prize Winner in the 2007 Metrobank Art And Design for Excellence National Competition in Sculpture. He has come a long way from his humble beginnings. The son of a construction foreman, it was while helping his father on a house repair job that he was exposed to the sculptures of the homeowner, artist Ed Defensor. Sensing the boys interest, Defensor hired him as apprentice. He was only 14 years old but his early exposure to art encouraged him to become an artist.
