Sykes Asia Goes Team-building at Casa San Pablo

Our trolley challenge where the participants had to walk as a single unit using the wooden plank.

THEY WORK HARD; they play hard. That's what Sykes Asia'stravel account officers and senior staff just did in their recently conducted off-site team-building activity at Casa San Pablo last March 29, 2014.

We really had fun hosting this bubbly group composed of more than a hundred employees, mostly working under Sykes Asia's different lines of business. Our Junk Art Garden, which we set-up as a gallery for upcycle junk and a venue for various creative games, provided a perfect place for the  physical activities that we facilitated for our guests.

“The place is really nice. The spacious ground is really perfect for team-building activities,”Sykes Asia Senior Manager Grace Castro shared.

Asked about their company-sponsored activity, Sykes Asia administrative assistant Jom Vega Dela Cruz said they came for fun and learning. “It's a good thing for our team leads and senior staff to take a day off from the grind of work and enjoy a new experience,” he says.

Wanting to make our guests' stay more than worthwhile, we put them up to a series of fun, enjoyable, and physical team-building exercises—all designed to foster communication, leadership skills, and camaraderie and teamwork. We explained these goals to the group after every game.

Despite some of the activities being a little bit strenuous, we're amazed at how our guests took the challenges in stride and went ahead playing hard and having fun.

“This group is one of the best I've handled,” says Arvin Carandang, our regular team-building facilitator who had been doing the job for 15 years. “It's a matter of attitude. At the end of the day, it becomes one of those unique, fun experiences you take home with you,” he adds.

Sykes' customer service department employee Maryjane Mina agrees. “It was fun. We played the games and had fun. But at some point, the whole thing makes you realize that it's all about teamwork, focus, and strategy...which are all important to achieve a goal.”

Our guests ended the day bonding, swimming at our pool, and enjoying our place. We thank you Sykes Asia for coming over and making us part of a great activity.
