WEDDING INSPIRATIONS: Steve and Karla Wedding Ceremony

SHE CAME TO CASA SAN PABLO long before she met him and long before we opened our doors to wedding receptions. But Karla thought to herself, someday it would be nice to be wed here and filed away the idea. Time brought her to many parts of the world,  she met Steve across the globe. They fell in love and decided to have two weddings—one in the Philippines and the other in Steve's hometown in the US. Karla didn't think of Casa San Pablo right away. She surfed the net looking for settings for an outdoor intimate wedding. It wasn't until a friend told her that Casa San Pablo now holds wedding receptions that she remembered us. She found our website and liked what she saw. Most of all, she latched on to the worry-free package option. Because she would not be able to fly in to the Philippines until a few days before the wedding, she liked the idea that we would handle the big and small details of the wedding for her. Take a look at the lovely wedding we arranged for them and the awesome personal touches Karla and Steve put in.

Because they had Christian marriage rites, the couple had the wedding ceremony at the garden gazebo. They walked on a jute carpet strewn with white rose petals.
Weddings guests who approached the garden were welcomed with the initials of Steve and Karen cut out and decorated with paisley prints. If you want to set a casual tone, do as they did, choosing to use their nickname initials rather than the more formal last names.
We just love this idea! Instead of holding bouquets, the bride's maids and maid of honour held up blackboard cards (brought by Karla from the States). This touch clearly sent the message across that this was going to be a fun-filled and relaxed wedding. See the handsome groom waiting for his bride on the steps of the gazebo.
After walking down the aisle, Karla and her parents paused right before ascending the steps where her groom waited. The Pastor invited the Steve to gaze at his lovely bride. What a truly moving moment that was.
At the steps of the gazebo, the couples' bench and kneeler were angled so that they faced the Pastor and their friends as well. It is different from most weddings where the bride and groom have their backs to the congregation. This made for a truly meaningful ceremony for all who were there.
From the garden ceremony, friends waited at the garden threshold to shower petals and rice grains on the newlyweds.
Ah bliss! A kiss to end the ceremony and start the cocktail reception.
