Appetite Magazine Rediscovers Coconut Charm at Casa San Pablo

THE COCONUT CHARM brought Appetite over.

That was probably the case when a cheerful foodie group from Appetite Magazine of One Mega Group Inc. visited us recently for a taste and hands-on cooking of native San Pablo cuisines.

Welcomed by our innkeeper An Mercado-Alcantara, the magazine’s editorial team, led by its celebrity editor-in-chief Nina Daza-Puyat, had a great time rediscovering the gastronomic wonders of coconut.

“This is a coconut heaven!” says Appetite staff Janelle Año, who graciously appreciated our local offerings. “Thank you so much for the great meal and the even greater coconut tour,” she adds, referring to the native cooking tour that we’ve prepared.

And the coconut truly made a blast. The tour, whipped up with an appetizing array of homemade, coconut-based culinary treats, like pinaltok, adobong manok sa gata, and kulawo, presented an informative journey on the local food culture in San Pablo.

“May you all continue to educate the Filipinos and other foreign guests about Laguna cuisine; one coconut at a time,” Daza quips in her parting message.

That, we’ll surely do. Thank you Ms. Daza and Appetite Magazine; we really appreciate the visit. We’re hoping to see you back for another bite of our culinary tradition.
