Solar News Channel’s “Something to Chew On” Visits Casa San Pablo for Native Cooking Tour

SOLAR NEWS CHANNEL'S "SOMETHING TO CHEW ON" scooped on scrumptious San Pablo native cuisines during its recent visit to Casa San Pablo last June 6-7, 2014. Led by its amiable host Xandra Rocha, the food travelogue show’s whole crew was warmly welcomed and entertained by our innkeeper An Mercado-Alcantara. The show’s visit at Casa San Pablo was the latest in a series of food adventures which the program wonderfully delivers at primetime.

Our guests’ overnight stay at Casa San Pablo was made more meaningful by a series of activities which we hosted. These include a video presentation about the history, significance, and influence of the coconut industry in San Pablo’s food culture; a walking tour within our coconut plantation just right at our backyard of which Ms. Rocha got a taste of the different edible stages of coconut; a cooking demonstration of our native gata-based dishes; and a hands-on cooking of our native cuisines. It was a fun-packed day which rightly served the show’s episode on the gastronomic wonders of San Pablo, Laguna.

We really had a great time during our guests’ visit and we’d like to thank Ms. Xandra Rocha and everyone involved in her show for gracing us with a chance to showcase our native cuisines.
