KGB Call Center Philippines Takes the Coconut Cooking Team Building

COOKING TOGETHER CREATES a fun opportunity for team mates to collaborate outside of the work environment and to go through the process of planning, communicating, and problem solving even as they have fun. This was the experience of KGB Call Center Philippines as they took on Casa San Pablo's Native Cooking Team Building activity last November 29-30, 2013.

The activity started with a brief lecture on the history of coconut plantations on San Pablo and why the coconut is an essential ingredient of many of our dishes. This was followed by a round of coconut tasting where the participants got a chance to taste over 10 ways that coconut can be enjoyed. The highlight of the activity was a cooking session. Teams competed against each other to prepare three classic San Pablo dishes: adobong manok sa gata, kulawong talong, and pinaltok. The results were impressive as the teams not only tried to outdo each other in taste but also in the plating of the dishes. Some of the team leaders showed exceptional skill and prowess in the kitchen. But the surprise winner of the activity was a team who claimed they were kitchen neophytes.

To sum up the activity, the participants said they enjoyed the activity because they had a chance "to work together as a team."

The Casa San Pablo Native cooking tour is available as a team building activity or as a cultural education activity at Casa San Pablo in San Pablo City, Laguna.
